Meaning of the 'Piercing Flame':
When a believer gives precedence to Allah, Most High, in all his affairs, he is elevated towards his Lord. His is lifted towards Allah in this very life and is made refulgent with a special light. So lofty is this elevation that it takes him beyond the reach of Satan and so Satan cannot touch him.
Allah has given us an example of every single happening in this world, and in this regard a sign is given to us that when Satan begins to ascend towards the heavens he is pursued by a piercing flame which throws him down to earth.
Saqib has several meanings. Firstly, it means a bright star; secondly, it refers to something that makes a hole or penetrates; thirdly, it is applied to something that soars very high. As regards this meaning, an analogy concerning the human condition is put forward, and this example contains both a manifest application and a hidden reality. This is, that when a man achieves perfect faith in Allah he rises towards his Lord and is bestowed special power, strength and light by means of which he throws Satan to the ground.
A fourth meaning of saqib is one who beats, and it is the duty of every believer to make every attempt to beat his Satan and destroy him. Those who are unacquainted with spiritual science consider this a laughing matter when in fact they themselves are the real laughing-stocks. There is a visible law of nature operating in the world and so, too, there is a hidden law, and the manifest law is an indication of the hidden spiritual law.
Allah, Most High, has informed me through this revelation that I have the status of a piercing star from Him. In other words, He is saying that He has created me to beat Satan and that he will be destroyed by my hand.
Satan can never rise high. If a believer climbs aloft, Satan can never overpower him. A believer, therefore, should make petition to Allah beseeching Him for such strength as will enable him to defeat Satan, and the first step in doing so is to rid ones mind of all evil thoughts and insinuations. The believer should proceed with steadfastness and never lose courage. He should doggedly go after his task to conquer Satan and one day he will surely taste victory.
Allah is Merciful and Kind and He will ultimately unveil the face of success to those who walk along His way. No one can imagine what rank and dignity lie in store for man if he should conquer his own Satan.
